"THE EIGHT PASSENGER"

A Flight of Recollection and Discovery

By Miles Tripp
Leo Cooper
ISBN 0-85052-377-X

RECOMMENDED

A true classic in every respect.  The story of Miles’s tour with the squadron during 1944/45. An often thought provoking book that questions the mortality of war and the inner courage of the individual.

"THE MAN WITH NINE LIVES"

By Gabrielle McDonald
The Book Guild Ltd
ISBN I 85776 804 3

This book is about a true legend with the squadron and No.3 Group, Geoffrey Rothwell. Geoff operated with No.75 and 138 Squadron as well as 218. His exploits as a flight commander are legendary on the squadron however this book really does not in my opinion do the man justice. A good easy to read never the less.

The story of Allen Clifford’s RAF career culminating in his tour with No.218 Squadron during 1944 and his subsequent  imprisonment when shot down on a daylight raid in November 1944.

"HIGH ADVENTURE"

A Navigator At War

By R.L.Austen

RECOMMENDED

An absolute must read book. “Dickie” Austens book is a masterpiece.  A engaging book with an appealing honesty which brings to life a number of personalities on the squadron during  campaign of 1944/45.  The book combines amusing ancodotes and the tension of daylight raids over Germany.
