A true story of a WWII by a lone survivor
By Bill Jackson

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
This book revolves around Sergeant Bill Jackson and his crew who served with the squadron during late 1942 early 1943.
This is perhaps the best book on the squadron yet. A compelling book that describes with some skill the day-to-day dangers and perils of operational flying. The author, the crews rear gunner describes with some degree of realism the fears and dangerous encountered by a Bomber Command crew. Told in a forthright and gritty manner the book describes the camaraderie and closeness of the crew both in the air and on the ground.
This book for me epitomises everything that Bomber command stands for.

Letters of an RCAF Navigator

RECOMMENDED
This soft back book publishes the letters sent home by former Sergeant George McGowan King who was tragically killed while serving with the squadron 1943.
Georges’s often funny and at times heart wrenching letters home give a very personal view of his time while under training and operational with No.218 squadron. A down to earth and gritty book, a tribute to George and the men of the RCAF.
